PWDs Community Appreciates Governor Aiyedatiwa Over Inclusive Leadership, and Progressive Steps
The leadership and entire members of the disability community in Ondo State wish to express our profound appreciation to His Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for the rare show of fatherly love, care, and listening ear extended to us during the recent Liberation Visit to the Government House few days ago.
The overwhelming joy and renewed hope that filled the hearts of members of disability community—who trooped out in large numbers to identify with your progressive leadership—remain unforgettable. Your Excellency’s warm reception, reassuring promises, and commitment to inclusivity have restored confidence that Ondo State truly values Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) as equal partners in governance and development.
We also deeply appreciate your bold and strategic decision to dissolve the Board of the Agency for the Welfare of Persons with Disabilities after the completion of their mandatory tenure in office. This progressive move, coupled with the rare privilege granted to the disability community to present credible and competent individuals for appointment as Chairman of the Agency, is a clear demonstration of your commitment to participatory governance and the principles of inclusion.
Your Excellency’s actions have rekindled hope for a PWD-driven Agency that will formulate and implement policies aligned with both your administration’s OUR EASE Agenda and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030. This forward-thinking approach will no doubt help in driving Ondo State towards greater social equity, empowerment, and disability-friendly governance.
As we celebrate these positive steps, we respectfully call for the speedy appointment of a competent new Chairman as you promised and the activation of the Agency’s programs and projects to continue an inclusive lives changing activities for PWDs. This will ensure that the momentum of progress is sustained and that PWDs across the state begin to experience the full benefits of an inclusive government.
On behalf of the entire disability community in Ondo State, we say a resounding THANK YOU for your fatherly love, inclusive leadership, and for putting smiles on our faces. We pledge our unwavering support and partnership as a stakeholder in working together to build a more inclusive, equitable, and prosperous Ondo State for all.
Signed:
