RAMADAN: EKITI APC LEADER, DELE PHILIPS URGES MUSLIMS TO PRAY FOR NIGERIA’S ECONOMY, PEACE AND UNITY
A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State, Dele Philips on Monday congratulated Muslim faithful on the commencement of the Ramadan fasting and prayers.
He urged them to pray for Nigeria as they observe the Ramadan, saying it is an opportunity for the Muslim faithful to pray for the improvement in the economy of the country as well as peace and unity of the country.
Philips who contested the last House of Representatives election in Ekiti Central Federal Constituency 2 urged them to also pray for President Bola Tinubu, Governor Biodun Oyebanji and nation at large for divine intervention in all the challenges being faced by the federation.
The Aramoko-Ekiti-born businessman and political leader implored Muslims to keep showing love, commending peaceful coexistence among religious leaders in the state.
He also urged them to uphold all the teachings of Prophet Mohammed in respect of the season and show love for their neighbours by giving to the needy during and beyond the season.
According to a statement signed by his media aide, Iyiola Adetola, Dele Philips advised all Muslim faithful to use the period to renew their spiritual life.
The statement reads inter Alia: “I congratulate all my Muslim brothers and sisters in Ekiti State and Nigeria at large.
“It is important to note that Allah has granted us this opportunity to move closer to Him and make our desires known to Him.
“I want to urge all my Muslim brothers and sisters to remember our nation Nigeria in our prayers for divine intervention in all the socio-economic challenges we are currently facing.
“Let us remember to pray for our leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Biodun Oyebanji for divine wisdom, knowledge and understanding to ameliorate the impact of the current socio-economic situations in our dear nation.
