
RE-RELEASE OF 2024 WAEC RESULT’S IN ONDO STATE By: Allen Sowore, Esq
On Monday, 12th August 2024, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) officially announced the release of results for candidates who sat for the West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) 2024.
In line with Ondo State’s education policy, the Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa-led administration is committed to covering the WAEC fees for all 26,088 qualified candidates, totaling N703,000,000 (Seven Hundred and Three Million Naira Only).
Commissioner for Education Mr. Laolu Akindolire confirmed that the government has already paid N550,000,000 (Five Hundred and Fifty Million Naira). Additionally, the Governor approved the payment of the outstanding balance of N153,000,000 (One Hundred and Fifty-Three Million Naira Only) last Tuesday. This payment will be released immediately to WAEC, allowing students in the state to access their results.
The processing of this outstanding balance is underway. After the results are released, the Governor has instructed the relevant ministries and agencies to expedite the final steps needed to complete the payment.
Parents and guardians are assured that any temporary delays due to technicalities and procedural requirements should not cause undue concern. The Governor, who has also initiated the recruitment of thousands of teachers to fill all vacant teaching positions in public schools, remains dedicated to prioritizing education. The Governor is committed to providing free and quality education for all students.
