RE: MALICIOUS CHARACTER ASSASSINATION AGAINST HON (BARR) TEMITOPE KOMOLAFE

The recent wave of malicious propaganda and deliberate character assassination targeted at Hon. (Barr.) Temitope Komolafe—Member Representing Ifedore State Constituency—stands as a shameful display of political desperation, falsehood, and ethical bankruptcy. This attempt to tarnish the image of a distinguished lawmaker, who has consistently served his people with dignity, commitment, and verifiable performance, must be outrightly rejected and condemned by all lovers of truth and justice.
It is unfortunate that certain individuals, blinded by sentiments and driven by unpatriotic motives, have resorted to spreading fabricated allegations under the pretext of political activism. Politics should never be reduced to a tool for misinformation, incitement, and unlawful defamation. Those who claim to be playing politics must first acquaint themselves with the boundaries of the law, morality, and responsible civic engagement.
Let it be made clear that protection of human rights is a sacred duty of every legislator, and Hon. (Barr.) Temitope Komolafe has never faltered in that obligation. However, the same constitutional framework that guarantees the rights of citizens also safeguards the dignity, reputation, and personal rights of elected representatives. No one—regardless of their perceived grievances—has the liberty to fabricate lies, incite the public, and desecrate the integrity of another human being with impunity.
The so-called issue of accountability, as raised by this habitual blackmailer, is nothing but a concocted narrative meant to discredit and distract. It is a baseless and malicious accusation, obviously orchestrated to dent the enviable record of Hon. Komolafe. The public must not be misled. The writer is not only intellectually dishonest, but also dangerously compromised by political patronage, as it is glaring he is being sponsored by opponents and political detractors whose only weapon is calumny.
It is worth stating that this is not the first time the said writer has resorted to this disgraceful path. The good people of Igbara-Oke and beyond are not oblivious of his consistent pattern of defamation, incitement, and baseless accusations—including an outrageous and laughable accusation of murder against Hon. Komolafe. Such reckless misconduct, if unchecked, threatens the very fabric of our civil coexistence.
Hence, Hon. (Barr.) Temitope Komolafe, in reporting the matter to law enforcement and pursuing appropriate legal redress, has only acted within his constitutional rights as a citizen and public servant. This is not just a defense of his person—it is a legitimate effort to uphold law, order, and democratic decency. No society thrives where falsehood is rewarded, and integrity is punished.
We therefore call on well-meaning citizens, lovers of democracy, and defenders of truth to rally in support of Hon. Komolafe. Let us denounce propaganda, expose lies, and safeguard the integrity of our institutions. Political engagement must be rooted in facts, not fictions; in service, not sabotage.
