REGIONAL INTEGRATION AND DIASPORA COMMISSIONER OLOGBESE CANVASSES INTERNATIONAL INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR ONDO
As part of efforts to create viable business opportunities and spur entrepreneurship in Ondo state, the Commissioner for Regional Integration and Diaspora Relations, Prince Boye Ologbese has engaged in bilateral discussions with the Japanese Ambassador to Nigeria.
The commissioner was speaking where he represented Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu SAN, CON, at the 63rd birthday ceremony of the Japanese Ambassador to Nigeria, Matsunaga Kazuyoshi, which was held at Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.
Prince Ologbese said the Ministry is keen on developing the state.
In his words, ” we are working assiduously to seek ways to expand the states’ diaspora relations but foremost ensuring that trust is established to enable a conducive and formidable business environment”
Giving more details, he said the discussion was premised on mutually benefitting interests to the people of Ondo state.
” certain mechanisms have been structured that could enable the state to become self-reliant but we cannot do it alone thus the need to establish a good relationship with key stakeholders” he said.
“the sunshine state is not only blessed with a large population and land mass but numerous mineral resources that can provide a maximum economic advantage,” He remarked.
He urged the Ambassador to explore the possibilities of harnessing the opportunities Ondo state has to offer which would be mutually beneficial.
The commissioner narrated that Ambassador Matsunaga said he was a believer in building good relationships and the interest to strengthen diplomatic activities and pursue economic growth in Nigeria is a topmost priority of his office.
According to a statement signed by the Media Officer in the Ministry, Debbie Funmilayo, the Commissioner stated that the Ambassador promised a visit to the state and expressed optimism that the relationship between Japan and the Ondo state government through the Ministry of Regional Integration and Diaspora Relations would yield positive results for innovations to emerge.
