
An 0ndo-based philanthropic social club, Satellite 15 has kicked off the 2022 edition of its participatory efforts in the annual Ekimogun Day fiesta with award of scholarships with consideration for no fewer than fifty secondary school students in Ondo East and Ondo West federal constituency.
According to president of the club, Satellite Anthony 0labanji, the scholarship scheme is meant to beam searchlight on brilliant but indigent students in the communities with a view to supporting their educational carrier.
The scholarship scheme commenced nearly a decade ago with over one thousand beneficiaries.
Selected students from major schools in Ondo East and West local government areas converged on St. Ambrose’s Grammar School for an aptitude test after which a mini reception was held for satellite club members, the students, parents, teachers and other guests in the spirit of the Ekimogun Day fiesta coming up in December.
Satellite Chief Timothy Akinkoye who is the chairman of the scholarship planning committe told journalists at the event that the second leg of the event will hold at St Monica’s Secondary School on the eve of Ekimogun Day when funds will be distributed to recipients of the scholarship.
Members of the Satellite 15 Club, Ondo collectively affirmed that the scholarship scheme is a uniting force to salvage indigent but brilliant students in the area.
