“…Apart from his legislative contributions on the floor of the Senate, Senator Ipinsagba has several achievements to showcase”

We would like to address a recent article titled, “Ondo North Senatorial District Deserves Better Leadership in the Senate”, attributed to one Idowu Matthew Oluwanifemi.
While we respect the right of individuals to free speech and expression, we find the article’s content misleading, malicious and a clear attempt to tarnish the image and reputation of the Senator representing Ondo North Senatorial District, Jide Ipinsagba.
The article’s claims about Senator Ipinsagba’s performance are baseless and lacking evidence. As the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Public Procurement, Senator Ipinsagba has demonstrated exceptional leadership, ensuring transparency and accountability in government procurement processes.
Apart from his legislative contributions on the floor of the Senate, Senator Ipinsagba has several achievements to showcase.
During Senator Ipinsagba’s tenure, Ondo North Senatorial District has witnessed significant progress. These include:
Facilitation of funding for various projects, leading to improved infrastructure, healthcare delivery and education in the district. Some of them are construction of a 1.5-kilometer road in Oka-Akoko, construction of the Ikare-Akoko Modern Civic Centre and the Oke-Agbe Civic Centre, Elegbeka Mega Market complex in Ose Local Government Area, a modern health centre in Akunu-Akoko, as well as 28 lock-up shops in Oka-Akoko. Through him, there was distribution of health equipment to the State Specialists’ Hospital, Ikare-Akoko, as well as provision of modern blocks of classrooms at Ilemopo Comprehensive High School in Irun-Akoko and AUD School, Isakunme in Ikare-Akoko.
Apart from several facilities built and inaugurated in Ondo North Senatorial District, Senator Ipinsagba has also facilitated lighting up of towns and villages with solar power, including the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA).
The Ondo North Senator has also facilitated employment opportunities for several of his constituents in NNPCL, Nigerian Police, Nigerian Army, Rural Electrification Agency and others. He has also ensured the award of scholarships and bursaries to over 1,000 students in tertiary institutions.
Senator Ipinsagba has also implemented empowerment programmes, benefiting thousands of constituents and enhancing their economic well-being. Through these, several women and youths have been trained in confectioneries, tailoring and other trades and presented with start-up grants, as well as distribution of fertiliser to farmers to boost food production.
These are just some of his highlighted achievements, which are visible to the visually impaired and audible to the hearing impaired.
• Agricultural and Farmer’s Empowerment
•ICT AND DIGITAL MARKETING for Ondo North Senatorial Youths.
•Distribution of Hospital Equipments to State Specialist Hospital Ikare
•Distribution of relief materials to Special Schools: Handicap, Deaf and School of Blind.
•Building of Halls across 5 LG ( Owo is demanding 80m for land that’s the reason for their own delay )
•Building and renovation of Schools in Owo, IRUN, Ikare etc
•Building of Lockup shops in Oka
•Road rehabilitation in Oka
•Federal Medical Center Hospital in Akunnu
•Operation light up Ondo with Solar light ( All LG Benefited )
•Scholarship for 1000 Ondo North students ( 50k each )
•1k Jamb for Ondo North Students
• Vocational Training in Tailoring and they’re duly empowered
•Free Medical Eyes surgery
•Stomach Infrastructure are countless.
Senator Ipinsagba has also sponsored and supported bills that promote national development and the interests of Ondo State, including the bill to establish the University of Information Communication Technology (ICT) in Ikare-Akoko among other bills.
We challenge the author to provide concrete evidence supporting his claims. Comparing achievements of Senator Ipinsagba to other lawmakers in the Senatorial District is also uncalled for and unnecessary, unfair and very ridiculous.
Senator Ipinsagba’s role and responsibilities as a senator differ significantly from those of a member of House Representatives, not to talk about those of a member of the State House of Assembly.
We urge the public to disregard this malicious publication and instead focus on the tangible progress Senator Ipinsagba has made.
Senator Ipinsagba remains committed to serving Ondo North Senatorial District and will continue working tirelessly to improve the lives of his constituents.
