SPECIAL ADVISER ON ENERGY HOLDS CRUCIAL MEETING WITH BEDC MANAGEMENT TO ADDRESS O’DATIWA METERING ISSUES IN AKURE
The Special Adviser on Energy to the Governor of Ondo State, Engr (Dr.) Johnson Alabi alongside his team from the Ondo State Power Company (OSPC), convened a crucial meeting with the management of Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) with the aim to address the ongoing challenges associated with vending on the O’Datiwa meters deployed across Ondo State.
Speaking at the meeting which was held at his office, Engr. (Dr.) Alabi said the meeting was necessary so as to bring to bare teething issues inorder to enhance customer satisfaction and to ensure fair billing practices in the metropolis.
He reiterated that the Governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa has the best intentions of the masses at heart and would not want them to be discouraged by the arising teething issues, thus the need for quick intervention into issues at hand.
General Manager on Metering at BEDC Mr. Muyiwa Akinkumi who led the team, expressed commitment to rectifying the problems faced by customers who have received the O’Datiwa meters but are currently unable to vend, assuring that all vending-related issues would be resolved promptly.
“The O’Datiwa metering initiative represents a significant advancement towards achieving a more accurate billing system for electricity consumers in Ondo State. All issues will be resolved, I can tell you authoritatively,” He said.
According to the Press Officer in the Office of Special Adviser, Debbie Funmilayo, the emphasized that the collaboration with Ondo State Government was vital for the successful implementation of the O’Datiwa metering system, which aims to improve the overall energy experience for the residents of Ondo State.
Consequently, the Special Adviser on Energy appealed to the citizens of Ondo State to exercise patience as all issues relating to the metering process will soon become a thing of the past.
