STAKEHOLDERS ESTABLISH JOINT TASK FORCE IN OKITIPUPA LOCAL GOVERNMENT, HAIL GOVERNOR AIYEDATIWA
…As Governor’s Aide, Alex Gbologe Assures JTF Will Combat Security Challenges In The Area
Determined to rid the state and all communities especially Okitipupa local government area of crime and criminalities, a joint task force that will involve all security agencies and vigilante groups has been set up.
At a high powered security meeting convened by the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Aiyedatiwa on Community Engagement (South), Hon. Gbologe Alex and held at the palace of Jegun, stakeholders agreed that the joint task force is necessary to combat various security challenges facing the area and the people.
While analyzing the recent security challenges in the area, the meeting agreed that all hands must be on deck to compliment the efforts of governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa who is leaving no stone unturned to secure the state and all inhabitants.
The people who stressed the need for more collaboration among all security agencies and vigilante groups, noted that the task of securing the area must not be left to government alone.
The meeting also appealed to traditional institutions and religious bodies to join hands with relevant stakeholders in curbing the activities of criminals.
As part of effort to kick start the operations of the joint task force and promote it’s efficiency and effectiveness, the Senior Special Assistant Governor Aiyedatiwa on Forestry, Hon. Bidemi Obayangba, donated the sum of One Million Naira to Idepe-Okitipupa Security Trust Funds for logistics.
The meeting also took other far reaching decisions aimed at safeguarding the lives and property of inhabitants of the area.
In attendance include the Jegun Idepe Okitipupa, Oba Michael Obatuga Adetoye, Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Community Engagement, (South), Hon. Gbologe Alex, representatives of the Nigeria Army, Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Amotekun Corps, Vigilante Groups, Nigeria Forestry Security Service and Community-Based Intelligence Networks.
