
SUPARE-AKOKO STAKEHOLDERS CONVERGE TO RESOLVE OBASHIP TUSSLE
Sequel to the crises which emanated from the post installation of a new Olusupare of Supare-
Akoko in Akoko land, stakeholders have met at a high level meeting in a bid to ensure continued peace and progress in the Supare-Akoko community.
The meeting which took place in Akure was aimed at addressing the issue of the Olusupare chieftaincy matter and the upcoming Supare-Day celebration.
The Hon. Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Engr. (Dr.) Johnson Alabi, presided over the meeting which had in attendance thirty-one (31) other stakeholders comprising the following:
-Representatives of Oba-in-Council, SDA National Council, Town Council, Supare Youth Council, representatives of the four ruling houses, elders and leaders of the community.
Resolution from the meeting was as follows;
-A selected group comprising Eleven (11) leaders and a representative each from the four (4) Ruling Houses are to meet H.E Alhaji Ali Olanusi and Prince Solomon Animasahun to seek their concurrence in the peace process for resolution, and to put an end to further legal
tussle.
-Pick another group made up of leaders of the four ruling houses to formally inform the Regent, Princess Adebukola Adedeji Adedayo to recognise the installation of a new Olusupare of Supare land.
-The National Council of Supare Development Association was mandated to write a formal official letter to the regent in respect of the need to give room to the new Oba. The letter should be copied to all chiefs and other developmental organs of the community for compliance.
-The meeting also agreed that the Supare-Day Celebration should be held as scheduled. Security of the community during the celebration should be beefed by contacting all relevant security agencies in the state.
-The meeting came to a close with the joint signing of the communique by all stakeholders, and issued for circulation to ensure swift action of the agreements.
