
A military checkpoint located near Zuma rock, a border between the Niger State and Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory has been attacked by suspected terrorists on Thursday evening.
Information on the attack is still sketchy as of the time of filling this report.
However, it was gathered that the personnel of the Nigerian Army have embarked on a clearance operation after the attack.
The incident was said to have caused gridlock in the area.
Reporters also gathered that the Mandala-Kaduna road has been cordoned off by the men of Nigerian Army.
This development was said to have caused a heavy gridlock on the affected route as motorists scampered for safety of their lives and property.
The Director, Army Public Relations, Brig Gen Onyema Nwachukwu had not made any statement on this development.
Sources close to the military however said the attack was repelled by the troops in the area.
The reported attack is coming few days after terrorists killed no fewer than six members of the Presidential Guard Brigade in Bwari area of the FCT.
Just last week, the terrorists who kidnapped the Abuja-Kaduna train passengers had threatened to abducted President Muhammadu Buhari and Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
