
THE HOPE NEWSPAPER NAMES OLUMUYIWA ADU THE MOST ACCESSIBLE POLITICIAN OF THE YEAR
It was a resounding applause at The Hope 2025 Awards, Lecture and Magazine Launch as the Ondo state government- owned media outfit conferred ‘the most accessible politician’ award on the APC Chieftain, Barr.(Dr) Olumuyiwa Adu ‘Cubana”
The radiant event with the theme “Nigerian Democracy: How patriotic are modern -day politicians? ” took place on Friday, 12th September, 2025 at Ondo State Development and Property Corporation (OSDPC), Multi-purpose Hall, Ijapo Estate, Akure and witnessed the gathering of media gurus, government functionaries, political juggernauts, religious leaders, traditional rulers, captains of Industries, the academics and other numerous stakeholders.
The organisers described Dr Adu as a worthy recipient of the award on the grounds of his impressive social interactions, societal commitments and friendly dispositions to the people and several communities and for his outstanding contributions and support to the journalists and media houses.
In his remarks, Dr Adu appreciated the management of Owena Press Limited- The Publishers of The Hope Titles under the idenfatigable leadership of Mr Kayode Fasua for the honour bestowed on him.
Dr Adu pleaded with the residents to patronize The Hope publications and urged the management to improve on its distribution networks that can enhance the company’s service delivery nationwide.
While admonishing politicians to desist from creating unnecessary distractions that can hinder good governance in the state, he urged the good citizens of the state to continue to support Governor Aiyedatiwa.
According to him, “Nobody can remain forever in government. You will be there today, you may not be there tomorrow”.
He derided those fanning the embers of disunity to gain attention and promotions as he said that all powers belonged to God.
“If God does not enthrone you, no man can ordain you. Every politician should put people’s interests above their personal interests.
“The political offices should be utilized for the welfare of the masses and not for personal gains or insatiable desire to remain in the corridor of power permanently”. He sermonised.
The ubiquitous philanthropist ascribed his ceremonious declaration of support for Governor Aiyedatiwa two months before the party primary to spiritual instruction from God.
Highlighting infrastructural developments embarked upon by the state government, Dr Adu opined that, “the number and quality of the ongoing projects across the state have clearly shown that Governor Aiyedatiwa is a man of taste ordained to serve divine purposes”
Dr Adu launched the debut magazine with the sum of one million naira and promised other personal interventions for the media company.
Several distinguished personalities were also honoured with different categories of awards including the Governor of Ondo state who was honoured as the ‘ Man of the year 2025’ and was ably represented by his Chief Press Secretary, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan.
The recognition of Dr Olumuyiwa Adu alongside eminent citizens in the state is significantly testimonial and will surely add another colourful feather to the cap of the Akure- born politician who is respected for his candour, brilliance and generosity.
