THE MONUMENTAL ONGOING PROJECTS IN ONDO STATE
By Allen Sowore, Esq
Across Ondo State, monumental projects continue to redefine the landscape and transform communities. In the Central Senatorial District—from Akure, the ever-busy capital city, through Oke-Aro/Idanre Road, Ijare Road, and Imafon Road, to the imposing flyover bridge rising across the Ilesha/Owo–Benin Expressway—the evidence of purposeful governance is unmistakable. Equally significant is the ongoing dualisation of the Akungba–Ikare Road in the Northern Senatorial District.
The South is not left out. From the dualisation of the Okitipupa/Igbokoda Road and the Akotogbo/Ijosun Roads to the multiple road construction projects in Ilaje, including extensive concrete walkways, development is in full swing. In Okitipupa and Odigbo, the roads throb with activity. Contractors—men, machines, and momentum—move with the determined rhythm of termites building a fortress. The landscape is transforming so swiftly, so deliberately, that indigenes returning home may soon require a digital compass to trace the familiar footpaths of their ancestors.
When completed, these projects will speak with quiet authority—silencing the murmurs of mischief-makers, the chants of restless naysayers, and the bravado of political musketeers with their familiar shenanigans. I am reminded of the Governor’s vision—his earnest resolve to advance Ondo State—and how these projects stand as the physical evidence for that ambition.
