‘THE NIGERIAN PROJECT’ CONDEMNS KILLINGS IN BENUE STATE
…As National Convener Ochiagha Reagan Ufomba demands immediate deployment of military presence in affected areas
The Nigerian Project has called for Immediate deployment of adequate military presence in areas under siege in Benue State.
A statement personally signed by the National Convener of the movement, Ochiagha Reagan Ufomba and made available to newsmen described the frequent attacks on innocent Nigerians as unacceptable.
In his words, “we are deeply outraged, utterly heartbroken, and wholly dissatisfied with the unrelenting bloodshed and barbaric killings of innocent Nigerians in Benue State”.
“The latest orgy of brutal, unprovoked, and inhumane killings is a direct assault on our shared humanity and an indictment of the nation’s security architecture”.
“Benue is bleeding, and the soul of our nation bleeds with her”.
“These killings are no longer random acts of violence, they are systematic, targeted, and genocidal in pattern. Women, children, the elderly, and entire communities are being wiped out in cold blood”.
“Farms are deserted, homes destroyed, and dreams shattered. The government’s silence, inaction, or ineffectiveness has become deafening and dangerous”.
“We, the members and leadership of The Nigerian Project (TNP), stand in absolute solidarity with our Benue State Coordinator, the resilient members of TNP, and indeed, the good people of Benue State”.
“We salute your courage, we feel your pain, and we join our voices with yours in condemning this madness in it’s strongest terms”.
“This is not the Benue we know, the food basket of the nation, now turned into a killing field. This is not the Nigeria we fought for, nor the future we envisioned for our children”.
“We demand immediate deployment of adequate military presence in the most affected areas”.
“A judicial panel of inquiry to unearth the root causes and bring perpetrators to justice”.
Ochiagha Reagan Ufomba also called for full compensation and resettlement of displaced persons and proscription and disarmament of all militia groups operating in and around the state.
“A presidential visit to the affected communities — not as a photo-op, but as a sign of serious concern and action is required”.
“Our hearts are with the bereaved families. Our spirits are with the survivors. And our commitment is unwavering — we will not rest until justice is done”.
“To our members in Benue, this is a dark hour — but you are not alone. We mourn with you. We fight with you. And we will rebuild with you. The Nigerian Project is watching. Nigerians are watching. The world is watching. Let this carnage end — now”.
The National Convener however expressed the hope that “together, we can, and will make Nigeria great again”.
