THE NIGERIAN PROJECT NATIONAL CONVENER OCHIAGHA REAGAN UFOMBA FROWNS AT ATTEMPT TO REGIONLISE MOVEMENT
“…The recent revival at General IBB’s 83rd birthday reaffirms our commitment to this singular authority, to economic advancement, to security, to political emancipation, to inclusive governance, and not to ethnic and regional trappings”
The National Convener of The Nigerian Project, Ochiagha Reagan Ufomba has frowned at any attempts to poach, infiltrate, incite, and regionalise the movement.
In a statement personally signed by the political leader, he stated that the leadership of the project would not condone a situation where indiscipline and disrespect to laws and authorities would be promoted in the name of democracy.

On The Ideals of TNP We Stand
The Nigerian Project (TNP) was founded in the early 2000s as a unifying movement for national development, stability, and progressive governance. Key figures, including the late Chief of Staff to President IBB, Colonel Nyan; current Chief of Staff Colonel Habib; Chief Victor Odili; the late Chief Alex Akinyele; Governor Clement Ebri; Francis Ogboro; the late Alhaji A. Y. Gombe; Abdulmalik Shettima; Hassan Jallo; Dr. Peter Osadebay; Brady Nwosu; Col. Gwadabe; Col. Aminu; the late Gen. Adisa; Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi; the late Col. Iheanacho, and other notable Nigerians played various roles, including my humble self. Brady Nwosu had recently provided insights into who played what roles, when, and how.
A defining moment was the first National Convention at Concord, Owerri, in 2005, where retired military generals, captains of industry, and prominent Nigerians gathered to chart TNP’s future. This solidified it’s ideological foundation and affirmed that TNP is greater than any individual or sectional interest and cannot be derailed. I played host to the unique august gathering in my capacity as South-East chairman.
For years, TNP has thrived on ideals of peace, unity, oneness, mutual respect, and disciplined engagement. Ideas competed with ideas and were not conspired against persons. There was respect for hierarchy and constituted authority, where power derived from only one source in Minna.
The recent revival at General IBB’s 83rd birthday reaffirms our commitment to this singular authority, to economic advancement, to security, to political emancipation, to inclusive governance, and not to ethnic and regional trappings.
Going by my records, it is evident that TNP has remained pan-Nigerian par excellence, with all political parties, all religious groups, and all ethnic groups adequately represented and playing non-discriminatory key roles. Yet, a few individuals prefer to be “kings in hell” than be “servants in heaven.”
TNP’s stance against such persons, against indiscipline, strange ideologies, and against rascality reflects our dedication to responsible leadership, order, and rule of law. We do not pretend about these and frown seriously at attempts to poach, infiltrate, incite, and regionalise the movement.
I have searched the internet and dictionaries known to man and law and do not find where democracy is defined as indiscipline and disrespect to laws and authorities. Or where indiscipline is democratised and allowed to fester. In fact, that is not the road to “a new Nigeria” we seek.
Two things qualify candidates seeking membership of organisations: One, belief in the ideology of the organisation; and two, willingness to imbibe the ethos and respect for its laws. Every other thing is secondary.
Let me state unequivocally that TNP is not a town or trade union, neither is it an Old Boys Association nor in search of an identity or ideology. It is an Organisation of responsible men and women guided by a well-crafted ideology, rule of law, and constitution. Our allegiance is to our ideology while committing to a united nation driven by competence, respect, a pragmatic approach, and visionary leadership.
It is for the above reasons that we have put in place two committees to re-examine our recruitment processes and their suitability with clear terms of reference. They have 30 days to submit their report. Another committee has been set up to advise on the modalities for the funeral of our fallen compatriot, Dr. Taiwo Olofinluyi.
We urge all members to uphold our founding ideals and reject distractions that threaten our collective mission. We are bigger and better under the biggest, tested, and trusted banner of our Principal, and not under some untested, clannish, regional, and nondescript persons and quasi-groupings masquerading as “democrats” that cannot withstand just one political storm.
Be further assured, the leadership shall provide the right way at the right time.
God bless TNP!
God bless our members!
TNP Forever!
Forward Ever, Backward Never….!!!
