Osadugba Oluwatomilayo Rhoda, a brilliant student from, IJAPO High School Ondo State who shines with her impressive performance during Nigeria’s First Lady’s working visit to Ondo State with her eloquent speech in her indigenous language on the importance of decent dressing for girls has been awarded a scholarship
The young, talented girl was awarded a scholarship alongside another brilliant student from Saint Louis Grammar School, Akure, for their hard work, despite coming from a less privileged background.
Miss Osadugba’s journey to this achievement is particularly inspiring, born to a less privileged father who works as a welder, she has demonstrated remarkable talent and hard work in her academic pursuit.
Speaking on this development, the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Social Development, Dr. Seun Osamaye, praised the Nigeria First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu OON, CON, and Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for their commitment to child development, Education, and Empowerment in Ondo State.
Dr Osamaye said that the RHI Merck Foundation And Aiyedatiwa’s administration support for girls’ education has been praised by many, and the scholarship was a significant step towards empowering young girls
Appreciating the Governor for the second beneficiary, a student from St. Louis Grammar School, Akure, from a humble background with a widowed mother saying the scholarship will undoubtedly be a game-changer for both girls, enabling them to pursue their academic dreams without financial burdens.
The Commissioner expressed gratitude to Governor Aiyedatiwa for his commitment to the growth and development of every girl child in the state saying the scholarship was a beacon of hope for many families, and the Governor’s efforts to nurture young talents
The Scholarship Programme is part of the Renewed Hope Initiative’s (RHI-MERCK) Foundation, which aims to provide financial assistance to deserving students.
