UNIVERSITY LECTURER ELUSAKIN TASKS NIGERIANS ON ECONOMIC REFORMS
…As Legal Luminary, Barrister Abel Bello launches book as part of retirement ceremonies
Until political office holders and public servants key into the ongoing economic revival reforms embarked upon by the Federal Government and play their onerous roles diligently, the dream of overcoming the nation’s economic woes will remain a mirage.
A University Lecturer, Dr. K.T Elusakin made the observation when he was reviewing a book which was launched during the week in Lagos.
The book with the title “DOING YOUR BIT MAY MATTER” was written by a Legal Luminary, Barrister Abel Bello as part of his retirement ceremonies from the Local Government Service of Lagos State.
According to the Senior Lecturer at Lagos State University of Education, Ijanikin, the federal government must do everything possible to cushion the adverse effects of the reforms and praised the citizens for their resilience, patience and support so far.
He expressed confidence that the desired results will be realized going by the commitment of the federal government to arrest and prosecute all economic saboteurs and called for more stringent measures against them.
Having poured encomiums on the Author of the book for serving the state government in the best of his ability without blemish, Elusakin lauded him for outlining the various experiences gathered during his service years for others to learn and make necessary adjustments towards achieving the set goals.
He said, ” the comparison made in the book by the Author whereby he compared the current hardship Nigerians are going through to the period when the people of China were passing through the same situation in their economic interest as a welcome development especially now that some citizens are of the wrong opinion that President Tinubu led administration is deliberately punishing them.
“Today, the citizens of China despite their large population are enjoying because the economy reforms that made them to cry many years back have stabilized their dwindling economy and today, they are smiling as the country with the second best economy globally”
In his address, the Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area (LCDA),
Hon. Hammed Idowu Daniel Tijani commended the Author who he described as workaholic for burning the candle for the great book out of his busy schedule.
He expressed delight that the retiring Legal Officer was able to capture the exact intention of the federal government towards revamping the nation’s economy and recommended the book for Nigerians.
In his comment, the Chairman of Badagry Local Government Area, Hon. Olusegun Onilude who was represented by Hon. Adegoke Ajape noted that the Author brought the council’s legal department to limelight and recorded tremendous achievements during his days in the council.
” When Barrister Abel Bello was the head of our legal department, he recovered some of our lost properties and gave them legal backing in such a way that nobody can now toy with the properties belonging to the council” he said.
