VETERAN BROADCASTER, BANKOLE AGBEYO PASSES ON AT 85
A veteran broadcaster and former director at the Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State, Mr. Bankole Agbeyo, has passed on.
A release signed by one of his children, the Special Adviser (Media) to the Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly, Babajide Agbeyo, confirmed that the octogenarian died in Ado Ekiti on Friday.
Aged 85, Bankole Agbeyo, a London-trained journalist, started his career in Nigeria with the Western Nigeria Television and Western Nigeria Broadcasting Service (WNTV/WNBS), Ibadan.
He also worked at the Ondo State Radiovision Corporation (OSRC), rising to the height of Director, News and Current Affairs.
Bankole Agbeyo, husband to the pioneer Chairperson of the National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Ekiti State, the late Iyabo Agbeyo, is the eldest brother of the Special Adviser to the Ekiti State Governor on Human Capital Development, Pastor Gbenga Agbeyo.
He is survived by children and grandchildren.
