GOVERNOR AIYEDATIWA SET TO EMPOWER STREET SWEEPERS ON INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY
…Identifies Women In Waste Management Agency as Strategic Stakeholders
Ondo State Government is set to give cash empowerment to Street Sweepers as part of the programmes marking the International Women’s Day.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Women Affairs, Dr. Seun Osamaye who was addressing Street Sweepers in Akure said it is part of the components of the “Our Ease” agenda of Aiyedatiwa administration.
In her words, “Governor Aiyedatiwa’s assurance of an all-inclusive governance is consistent with his previous commitments to promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment”.
“He has pledged to increase women’s representation in governance, recognizing their trustworthiness and capacity to drive growth and development”.
The Special Adviser reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to enhancing women’s welfare and economic opportunities.
“This dedication is part of Governor Aiyedatiwa’s efforts to promote gender inclusiveness and empower women in Ondo State economic opportunities”.
She further stated that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa is set to launch empowerment programs for women across Ondo State’s 18 local government areas in celebration of International Women’s Day.
“This initiative is a significant step towards promoting gender equality and economic empowerment for women in the state”.
“The programme will also benefit street sweepers, who have expressed their gratitude to the Governor for recognizing their contributions”.
“The administration has demonstrated a strong commitment to investing in developmental projects that improve the lives of women and their communities”.
Since taking office, Aiyedatiwa has engaged with women across the state, listening to their needs and concerns.
This has helped build trust and optimism among women in the state, who see the government as a partner in their development.
In her response, the Chairman of Waste Management Board, Hon Yinka Alabi thanked the governor on behalf of the women for running an all inclusive government.
