
WOMEN AFFAIRS MINISTER SULAIMAN-IBRAHIM CHARGES STATE COMMISSIONERS ON EFFECTIVE COLLABORATION
…As Minister presents Advocacy Tool-kits to 37 Commissioners, hails Aiyedatiwa for appointing Osamaye
The Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has charged State Commissioners for Women Affairs in the country to build a proactive and problem-solving ministry that is at the center of social development.
The Minister made the call at a meeting on Gender Equality and Women Empowerment (GEWE) Coordination Mechanism and Institutional Strengthening held at the National Women Development Center in Abuja.
The meeting aimed to present evidence, research, and advocacy toolkits for zonal coordination mechanisms also focused on progress report on the Special Bill Act and its processes.
The Minister emphasized the importance of building unified and strengthened institutions as a catalyst to economic growth and national security.
Hon. Sulaiman-Ibrahim expressed appreciation to Ondo State Governor, Dr Lucky Aiyedatiwa for appointing Dr. Seun Osamaye as Commissioner and charged her to justify the confidence reposed in her by working to ensure the actualization of the Governor’s vision of a better Ondo State and Improved Welfare for women.
The Minister further underscored the importance of effective leadership and collaboration in promoting women’s empowerment and gender equality to bring about significant change towards advancing the welfare of women in Ondo State.
The GEWE meeting which was co-conveyed by the UN Women brought together stakeholders from government, civil society groups, media and academia to discuss the report of the GEWE Zonal Coordinating Mechanisms across the country.
Highlight of the event was presentation of working tools to the 37 Commissioners for Women Affairs in support of the GEWE reporting and Coordination.
Speaking on the development, the Special Adviser to Governor Aiyedatiwa on Women Affairs, Dr. Seun Osamaye said the items will assist in the implementation of the “Our Ease” agenda of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.
Osamaye who is also a Commissioner-designate assured that the items would be judiciously used and also protected.
