Top women civil servants in Ekiti State, under the auspices of Women in Management, have visited the wife of the Governor, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji and rubbed minds with her on their activities in the state.
According to the coordinator of the group, Mrs. Oluyemi Kayode Ojo, members are drawn from various cadres in the civil service, with the multifaceted objective of providing mentorship for junior colleagues and young boys and girls in schools.
Ojo, a Permanent Secretary, pointed out that as a group of women in management cadre in Ekiti civil service, the major focus of Women in Management is to serve as the mother hen for their junior colleagues, by protecting their interest as well as giving them career mentorship.
As parts of their objectives, the coordinator also stated that Women in Management often goes beyond civil service by providing guidance to young girls in school, especially in the area of career and hygiene.
While reaffirming their dedication to the Biodun Oyebanji’s-led administration, the group expressed their readiness to work with the office of the First Lady to strengthen their objectives within and outside the civil service.
“Our program is focused not only on our members but are extended to officers at the lower cadre. We also go extra mile to impact on young boys and girls in schools in the area of career development, provision of sanitary items and offering of educative tips on personal hygiene, ” she said.
Responding, the First Lady, Dr. Oyebanji, said she was excited listening to some of the beautiful objectives and achievements of Women in Management, especially as it concerns professionalism, humanitarian services and mentorship. She also gave the group express assurance of possible collaboration in a bid to ensure further development in the state.
