WORLD AIDS DAY: GOVERNOR AIYEDATIWA TO PRESIDE AS ODSACA ROLLS OUT ACTIVITIES TO MARK ANNUAL EVENT IN AKURE
The Ondo State government has put in place various programmes and activities to commemorate this year’s World Aids Day in Akure the state capital.
World Aids Day is a global event to reflect on the impart of the dreaded disease and update stakeholders on efforts being deployed to control the situation.
In Ondo State, the State Action Committee on Aids(ODSACA) has lined up various programmes to involve government functionaries and other stakeholders in creating awareness and make task a collective responsibility.
According to a statement made public by the Chairman of the planning committee, Dr. Benson Ogunfuyi, a thanksgiving service would hold at the Chapel of Grace in the Government House on Sunday December 1st.
According to Ogunfuyi, on Monday December 2nd, Stakeholders would gather at the Government House Gate for Health Walk and Cycling Out HIV out of Ondo State which would take participants to strategic locations in the state capital.
Dr. Ogunfuyi who is also the Director of SKM&E in ODSACA said the health walk and cycling would take of by 7.00am.
While noting that the event would be presided over by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the Chairman Planning Committee said branded items are already available to add glamour to the events.
He assured that all structures and processes have been put in place to ensure a hitch-free exercise.
Ogunfuyi added that World AIDS Day is a time to remember and honor the more than 32 million people who have died worldwide from AIDS-related illness and renew commitment to ending the HIV epidemic.
