Ekiti Guber : SOCO Raises Alarm Over APC Destabilisation Plots

The Segun Oni Campaign Organisation (SOCO) has raised the alarm over alleged clandestine move by the Dr Kayode Fayemi -led All Progressives Congress (APC), administration to destabilized the state ahead of June 18 governorship election to create fear in the mind of electorate.
The move according to SOCO became imperative due to the soaring popularity of the Segun Oni among the electorate across the state who are facing unprecedented suffering in the hand of APC.
The Director of Media and Publicity, Segun Oni Campaign Organization, Mr Jackson Adebayo who made this known in a statement he made available to journalists in Ado Ekiti on Sunday, alleged that the governor’s hatchet men have been recruiting political thugs both within and outside the state with sole purpose of intimidating perceived opposition.
“Information at our disposal showed clearly that due to the fear of losing the election, some unscrupulous members of APC have sold the evil plot to recruit bandits, cultists and some criminals with the intention of unleashing mayhem before, during and after the election.”
Adebayo said that the plan for the use of the bandits is to confuse the unsuspecting residents of the state of the unholy intention so that the dastardly crime would not be linked to the government.
He added that, having realized that his protege can not win in the forthcoming election, the governor have reportedly bought the evil agenda, since brazen rigging of the election is almost becoming a herculean task following the enactment of new electoral act.
The organization further accused the governor and his foot soldiers of allegedly threatening some notable former members of his political party who defected to the SDP with arrest if they continue to campaign for Segun Oni.
“We are worried about the desperation of the APC whose candidate is becoming very unpopular by the day, to adopt a win-at-all -cost approach, even if it means burning down the state.
The SOCO therefore called on all the security agencies to be on the alert and proactively nip the evil plot in the bud before the APC cause war in Ekiti state with their sinister motives, ” a stitch in time saves nine.”
