The Godly and fatherly intervention of Kabiyesi, Oba Oluwagbemiga Olofin-Adimula, the Iralepo of Isinkan, on Monday saved some Aheregbe adherents who were caught by the Eshos whilst crossing the Imogun boundary between Akure and the Isinkan community and attempting to loot a shop.
They were overwhelmed by the Eshos, the pre-eminent traditional youth group of Isinkan, under the command of the Oshugbo Usi.
His Majesty the Iralepo however instructed that they be treated gently and handed over to the police.
His timely intervention prevented the culprits from being attacked.
The Aheregbe festival was observed Monday in Akure.
The people of Isinkan however stood their ground in opposition to a planned violation of the agelong tradition which forbids the trespass to Isikan land by Akure traditional festival adherents.
While markets were under lock and key in Akure, shops and markets opened for business in Isikan with the market women declaring that their “king is Iralepo and not the Deji”.
