
FAMILY, ASSOCIATES AND COMMUNITY LEADERS BID MEDICAL ICON, DR IGE OGUNLEYE-ALADEJANA FAREWELL IN AKURE

Personalities from within and outside Ondo State on Friday gathered in Akure the state capital to bid a prominent son, of the town Prince(Dr) Ige Ogunleye-Aladejana farewell.
Dr. Ige Ogunleye-Aladejana passed on at age 97.
The funeral service held at St. David’s Anglican Cathedral, Ijomu had in attendance captains of industry, political leaders, medical icons as well as community leaders from Akure and its environs.
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti who incidentally hails from the state capital.
Other personalities present at the occasion include the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Kayode Ajulo, SAN and former Commissioner for Urban and Physical Planning in the state, Kunle Ashaolu.
In his homily, the Dean of the Cathedral, Venerable Ope Kujero described late Prince(Dr) Ige Ogunleye-Aladejana as a pride not only to the medical profession but also Akure and Ondo State in general.
He reflected on the various contributions of the deceased to socio-economic existence of the people of Akure and the state in general.
Venerable Kujero urged the children to continue from where their father stopped, stating that the medical icon served his people and the state diligently.
Prince(Dr) Adebimpe Ige Ogunleye-Aladejana was born on the 30th of November, 1928 to the family of late Ogunleye and late Princess Felicia Famolayo Oluboyo of the Royal House of Oba Osupa.
He served in various capacities in different states in Nigeria and beyond and has continued to be a reference point in the medical world.
