
PROSPECT EDUCATIONAL CENTER IGBARA-OKE CELEBRATES 30TH ANNIVERSARY IN GRAND STYLE

…FUTA Don Davies Folorunso institutes Annual Awards for Best Students in Mathematics and Physics
It was display of academic excellence and reflection on commitment to service delivery as Prospect Educational Center, the owners of Prospect Nursery and Primary School as well as Propect Secondary School, Igbara-Oke in Ifedore local government area of Ondo State celebrated 30 years of imparting knowledge.
The event held in the School Premises attracted academics, traditional authorities , politicians as well as technocrats.
The event was presided over by former Minister of State for Transportation, Prince Ademola Adegoroye.
In his speech, he described the commitment of the management and staff of the school as a great encouragement and urged them to sustain and improve on the records being set.
The representative of the minister, a Professor of Advanced Material Engineering from Federal University of Technology, Akure(FUTA), Prof Davies Folorunso expressed happiness at the good news emanating from the school.
Prof. Folorunso instituted awards for best students in Physics and Mathematics on an annual basis.
The Don stressed that it would even be emphasized in his will that it must be sustained after he must have left eventually.
In her speech, one of the special guests of honour, the Erelu Iyaloja-General of Akure Kingdom, Chief (Mrs) Adefunmilayo Adekanye commended the Proprietress, Mrs. T.A Daramola for living up to expectations of both the parents and the state government.
In his remarks, the Divisional Police Officer of Igbara-Oke Divisional Headquarters, CSP Othuke who said 30 years is worth celebrating prayed for more more successes.
He called for concerted efforts at enlightening the school children on the need to shun social vices and violence.
Earlier, the Chairman of the planning committee, Hon. Ife Ajiwoye the celebration marks three decades of academic excellence, growth, and commitment to nurturing the minds of future leaders.
In his words, “as we commemorate this significant occasion, let us reflect on the vision and dedication of the founders, who laid the foundation for the school’s success”.
“Their legacy should continue to be an inspiration to strive for excellence in education”.
“I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who has contributed to the planning and execution of this event. Of note are the esteemed members of our committee both home and in the diaspora whose selfless contributions, and relentless efforts, both in kind and cash, cannot go unappreciated”.
In his goodwill message, one of the children of the Proprietress, Taiwo Daramola congratulated the Proprietress, Mrs. T.A. Daramola, the Management, Staff, Students, Alumni, and all the distinguished Awardees on the historic celebration of the 30th Anniversary of the institution.

“To the Awardees, your recognition today is a reflection of hard work and distinction, and a reminder that diligence never goes unrewarded”.
“This 30th Anniversary is not just about looking back with pride, but also looking forward with hope. I believe that the next chapter of Prospect Educational Centre will shine even brighter, with greater accomplishments, stronger impact, and an unbroken legacy of molding future generations”, Taiwo Daramola added.
In her anniversary speech, the Proprietress, Mrs. Titi Daramola analysed the various achievements recorded by the school since inception.
She acknowledged the roles played by her late husband, Mr. J.A Daramola for the initiative and support that made the school a shining example among others.
“The school was founded in Sept 12, 1995, the vision was that of my husband of blessed memory Late. Engr. J.A Daramola”.
“This was borne out of his passion for affordable and qualitative education for the less privileged at a time when it was not within reach for people that were far from the urban areas”.
“His community was paramount in his mind as good talents abound in this environs but lacking in the desired educational facilities to annex them”.
“He encouraged and supported me morally and financially to nurture the then new born baby named Prospect and to the glory of God, the school grew and produced so many successful people in the community and society at large”.
“Today many of the products are doing well in their various fields of profession all over the world.”
“The then baby Prospect was 30years old yesterday, 12th September, 2025. Hallelujah and all glory and adoration to the God Almighty, the journey has been tough and rough; we were faced with so many challenges but thank God for the good people around me that supported and encouraged me, that have allowed the vision to grow, hence the need for this celebration”.
“Here in the school, we inculcate good morals, discipline, academic excellence, respect to elders and fear of God and humanity to the children. Hence this made us to be proud of our products anywhere as they are good ambassadors of the school”.
“Over the years, we have participated in debates, quiz and Drama competition organized at both local and state levels and our students excelled in all the areas”
“Talking of inculcating democratic values in Nigerian schools, some years back, the school was among the 3 schools selected in Ondo state to participate in a training program called SADIN in Benin, Edo State, where students were taught on the tenet of Democratic values.
The students were made to retrain other schools on this”.
“The school was among the first set of schools that wrote NECO examination when others were still debating on it and our students did and are still doing well in their various external examinations , that is NECO and WAEC as well as JAMB”.
“Also, our students once won for the school a set Mathematics Textbooks due to their brilliant performance at a Mathematics competition”.
“My appreciation goes to my children, most esteemed Old Student’s Association, dedicated members of staff, hard working Students and Pupils, our partnering Parents, The Nigerian Police: our good neighbour of many years”.
The event was attended by the Chairman of National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools in Ifedore local government area, Pastor Kayode Afe as well as his Igbara-Oke zone Chairman, Bodunde Ogundele.
Others are family and childhood friends of the Proprietress who include Mr. Tope Adu, Mrs Yejide Omolayo, Mr. Francis Olawande, Barrister Alaba Eniola, Deaconess Olusola Ogunmoloye, and Dr and Mrs Olusola Olanrewaju.
The occasion also witnessed presentation of awards to individuals who have played one role or the other towards the development of the school.
They include Elder Sylvester Kolawole Oluponna, Barrister Taiwo Aturu, Prince Olusegun Atere, Mr. Kehinde Adewumi, Mr. Asiribo Olayinka, Master Opeyemi Benjamin Ajayi and Mrs Bola Akacha.
Some outstanding alumni honoured include Oladele Dada, Oluwaseun Ogunlala, Seyi Akinwale(nee Aturu), Dr. Lanre Akomolafe, Mr. Abiodun Ojo, and Mr. Afeez Olaore.
Those honoured with Posthumous awards were Late Chief Peter Oluyide Adu, Late Pa Peter Ogunlala, Late Deacon Ebenezer Kuye, Late(Mrs) Cecilia Fagbohun late Mr. David Olumide Ojo.
