EKITI YPP CONDUCTS PEACEFUL CONGRESS AS OWOOLA DARAMOLA RE-ELECTED CHAIRMAN (See Full List)
The congress of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in Ekiti State held today, 23rd May 2026, ended successfully as delegates elected new executives to steer the affairs of the party for the next four years without any incident of violence.
The spokesperson of the party, Omooba Adeyemi Adeparusi, said the manner in which internal democracy was demonstrated should be emulated by other political parties that often cannot conduct congresses without rancour. He spoke in Ado Ekiti after the exercise.
The congress was held under the close supervision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and a representative of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC).
According to a statement made public by Omooba Adeyemi Adeparusi, State Publicity Secretary, the party also commended the peaceful and successful conduct of the ward and local government congresses held consecutively over the last two days across Ekiti State. The smooth process at the grassroots level set the stage for today’s state congress and reflects the growing discipline and unity within the party.

10. Elder Benjamin Oluwagbenga Fasakin – Chairman, Ekiti South Senatorial District
11. Temitope Victoria – Woman Leader
In his acceptance speech, re-elected State Chairman Hon. Owoola Daramola said:
> “I want to sincerely appreciate the National Chairman of YPP, Comrade Bishop Amakiri, and the National Executive Committee for providing the enabling environment, guidance, and support that made this peaceful and credible congress possible. Your leadership has strengthened internal democracy in Ekiti YPP, and we pledge to justify the confidence reposed in us by working to expand the party and deliver results for our people.”
He also extended special appreciation to party leaders in Ekiti, most especially Oluomo Osikolu and Jide Filani, for their mobilization, guidance, and unwavering commitment to the party. He further thanked members of the newly elected State Working Committee, urging them to work collectively in the interest of unity, discipline, and the growth of YPP in Ekiti State.
