EX-ONDO DIRECTOR OF INFORMATION SERVICES JIDE AKADIRI IS DEAD
Information reaching Naijaparrots has it that a former Director of Information Services in Ondo State Ministry of Information, Mr. Jide Akadiri has died.
This was contained in a post made by a director who served under him, Dr. Williams Olufunmi on his social media handle on Tuesday, 16th June, 2026.
In his words, “we have lost a Gem: Good Night Mr Herbert Olajide Akadiri”.
“Former Director Information Services,
Ondo State Ministry of Information and Orientation.
He was my boss
yet not a boss, but
a Father, a Guardian Angel, a Mentor, a Mother Hen, a Loving and Caring Friend. But most of all, a sacrificial Dad.
Good Night”, Olufunmi added.
Following the post, numerous members of the public, especially journalists have continued to reflect on the kind of relationship the deceased had with people around him.
In words of Seun Adetola, he said “Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa….. Waohhhh!!!! This thing they call death….???
Life is actually a stage”.
“Oga Akadiri received us at the Ministry of Information when no fewer than ten of us were supposed to be victims of conspiracy”.
“He provided an enabling environment for us to display our talents with the enthusiasm of the then mother of all, our Deputy DIS who later became DIS and Permanent Secretary, Antie Julie Fayehun as well as the support of commissioner, Late Ranti Akerele”.
“Oga Akadiri, u were not just a leader but also a guide and guard”.
“Calm, humble, considerate and God-fearing”.
Similarly, Pastor Olakunle Fagboyegun described late Mr. Jide Akadiri as a thoroughbred professional and a complete gentleman.
“Easy going, calm and dutiful. May his soul rest in peace, amen”.
For another professional, Remi Olayiwola, he analysed his impact while he(Olayiwola)served in the Nigeria Union of Journalists.
“Good God!! My God !! So Mr Akadiri is gone ! Cool headed colleague. One of those that solidified the NUJ in his days”.
“At the time I was the Secretary of the NUJ between 1989 and 1993, I gained a lot from him through his wise counseling, straight forward advice and well mannerism”.
“He was loved by those who came across him. May his gentle soul rest in the bosom of the Almighty. Good night fine colleague”.
Mr Jide Akadiri retired as Director of Information Services in 2010 when he clocked the retirement age as a public servant.
