ACTIVIST RAISES ALARM OVER ALLEGED ATTEMPT TO INFLUENCE PROBE OF MOTHER ACCUSED OF EXPLOITING DAUGHTER
Human rights activist Israel Joe has raised concerns over an alleged attempt to influence the investigation into a 36-year-old woman arrested over the alleged exploitation of her daughter to produce explicit content.
Joe, in a statement shared on social media, alleged that the woman’s case may be linked to a wider network involved in producing and distributing disturbing adult content to wealthy clients abroad.
He claimed that some foreign buyers had become aware of the woman’s arrest and were allegedly mobilising funds to secure the services of a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), influence the narrative surrounding the case and potentially secure her release. JoinDiaspora Networks
Joe urged the police and prosecutors handling the matter to remain vigilant and ensure that the investigation and legal process were not compromised.
The activist further alleged that several other women were involved in similar activities on online platforms and claimed that some of the content was produced to meet requests from foreign subscribers.
He also alleged that participants operated private communication groups where explicit material was discussed and commissioned for payment.
Joe called for a wider investigation into the online networks, urging law enforcement authorities to examine the platforms, financial transactions and communication channels allegedly connected to the activities.
He also warned those involved in bringing the case to the attention of the authorities to protect their social media accounts, claiming that attempts could be made to silence or intimidate them.
The allegations made by Joe have not been independently verified, and there was no immediate confirmation from the police or other law enforcement authorities regarding the alleged international network, financial mobilisation or attempts to influence the case.
The woman remains under investigation over allegations involving her daughter, while authorities are expected to determine the full circumstances surrounding the case and establish whether other individuals were involved.
