AIYEDATIWA PROMISES STAFF OF OFFICE FOR AGBAKA OF ALAGBAKA
Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has assured Oba Afolabi Obasuyi, the Agbaka of Alagbaka that he will receive his staff of office as soon as it is presented to the governor.
Aiyedatiwa gave the assurance on Saturday while inaugurating the Ondo State APC Presidential Election Campaign Council, directorates and sub-committees at the International Culture and Event Centre, The Dome, Akure.
Addressing the traditional ruler, who was among those acknowledged at the event, the governor said the process of preparing the staff of office was underway and promised to pass it on to him once it was presented.
“I know your staff of office is coming soon, but we have not given you. You know, when governors speak, it carries authority,” Aiyedatiwa said.
He added that his recognition of Obasuyi as a royal majesty reflected his assurance that the staff of office would be presented.
“If I call you Royal Majesty, that means it is coming. They are preparing it, and as soon as it is presented to me, I will pass it on. But it has not been presented to me,” the governor said.
The assurance signals the governor’s intention to facilitate the presentation of the staff of office to the Agbaka of Alagbaka, one of the traditional chiefs in Akure Kingdom.
