Architect Tope Ogunleye (RST), a distinguished son of Ado-Ekiti, belongs to this category of accomplished Nigerians whose professional journey and contributions to public service merit recognition and celebration.
His story is one of academic excellence, professional distinction, and purposeful engagement in public administration.
During his Ordinary National Diploma (OND) programme at the School of Environmental Studies, Ondo State Polytechnic, Owo, in 1995, he emerged as the overall best student.
This remarkable achievement foreshadowed the intellectual discipline, determination, and commitment to excellence that would define his subsequent academic pursuits.
Ogunleye subsequently earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Architecture from Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, where he further distinguished himself by emerging as the best student in his master’s class.
These accomplishments underscore his dedication to learning, professional development, and the pursuit of excellence.
Beyond architecture, Ogunleye brought his professional expertise to bear on governance and public sector development in Ekiti State.
Between 2019 and 2022, he served as Special Adviser in the Bureau of Special Projects under the administration of former Governor John Kayode Fayemi.
He subsequently served under Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji as Director-General of the Bureau of State Capital Development Projects from 2022 until the end of his tenure in 2026.
His journey from professional architectural practice to strategic public administration highlights the importance of technical expertise in infrastructure planning, capital development, and the implementation of public projects.
It also illustrates how professional knowledge can contribute to the pursuit of sustainable development and improved public service delivery.
As a proud indigene of Ado-Ekiti, Architect Ogunleye maintains a strong connection with community development and collective advancement.
As President of the Ado-Ekiti Dynamic Club, he has continued to demonstrate his engagement with community leadership, organised initiatives, and the promotion of shared aspirations.
In recognition of his dedication to public service, Ekiti Summit News honoured him as the Ekiti Summit Public Person of the Year 2025.
