Leading House of Representatives aspirant for the Ekiti Central Federal Constituency Two on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Bamidele Philips has cautioned his supporters against any act that could tarnish the image of his campaign organization.
The federal Constituency Two comprises Ekiti West, Efon and Ijero Local Government Areas of the State.
Mr. Phillips was reacting to unruly behaviour displayed by some of his supporters who had come to welcome him to a Senatorial meeting of the party in Aramoko-Ekiti where they also carried placards with inscriptions that people should not vote for some aspirants.
While addressing them at his campaign secretariat in the town, Mr Phillips emphasized that he didn’t ask them to molest anybody but mobilise the youths for the project.
In his words, “What you people did at the other time is uncalled for. If you are wearing t-shirts bearing my name and picture, it must never be attached to violence or unruly attitude”.
“I didn’t send you to do that. What I told you to do is mobilise the youths and with my integrity and how far I have gone both locally and internationally, I shouldn’t be attached to such in the name of politics”, Mr. Phillips stressed.
He added that “everyone vying for the seat is qualified and has the right to attempt it. So, it is not a do or die affair”.
He used the opportunity to analyse the various programmes and projects in the pipeline for genuine empowerment that could turn their lives around.
