
EKITI PHILANTHROPIST HARRISON NIYI ALONGE HAILS NATION’S FOREFATHERS ON DEMOCRACY DAY
…Says democracy remains vital pillar of human and societal development
As Nigeria marks another Democracy Day, a UK-based Ikere-Ekiti-born philanthropist, Harrison Niyi Alonge has congratulated Nigerians on their resilience and commitment to democratic ideals.
In a statement, the philanthropist who is the founder of Harrison Niyi Alonge Care Foundation emphasized that democracy remains a vital pillar of any progressive society, noting that it gives voice to the voiceless, fosters unity, promotes freedom, and ensures that participation in governance is collective.
“Democracy is a sacrifice that must be held in high esteem, especially in a time like this when our nation needs love, unity, and collective effort to move forward,” he said.
Harrison Niyi Alonge commended the efforts of Nigeria’s past heroes who fought tirelessly to establish and preserve democracy in the country.
The Ikere-Ekiti-born philanthropist called on Nigerians to join hands with relevant stakeholders to ensure that the dividends of democracy are felt at the grassroots.
“Together, we can overcome challenges and move mountains. Let us support the democratic process and work with the authorities to build a nation where everyone benefits from good governance,” he added.
Niyi Alonge also appreciated the forefathers of the nation as well as those who fought for democracy, urging all and sundry to protect the system of government.
