ISE O’ DURO By Allen Sowore, Esq
“Immediately after the programme, I drove to the ongoing construction of the Fly-over and Junction Improvements at Onyearugbulem – Shagari/Irese Road along Ilasha-Akure-Owo.”
A few days ago, I was with the Governor, and he was passionately discussing the ongoing projects in the state and the need to complete them all. He spoke to me in Yoruba: “Allen, Ise O’ Gbudo Duro.” Meaning: All ongoing projects must continue.
I featured on two radio programmes yesterday, 2nd August, and today, 3rd August 2024, on Glow 99.9 FM and Crest 106.1 FM, respectively. A common question asked was about what the Governor has done so far and what he is currently doing.
Immediately after the programme, I drove to the ongoing construction of the Fly-over and Junction Improvements at Onyearugbulem – Shagari/Irese Road along Ilasha-Akure-Owo.
I interacted with the engineers and workers on the site. Interestingly, as I was leaving, one of the community members who are eagerly awaiting the project’s completion said to me, “Oga, ejo e bawa so fun Governor, ‘Ise O’ gbudo Duro ooo!'”
I looked back with a twinkle in my eye and replied, “Oga, enyin na ti ri pe Ise O’ Duro.”
One major challenge facing governance in Nigeria is the issue of abandoned projects. On many occasions, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has promised that all ongoing projects must be completed. This is yet another promise fulfilled.
