LORRY CRASHES INTO MARKET IN EKITI
Iworoko community in Irepodun-Ifelodun local government area of Ekiti State was almost thrown into another mourning after a lorry loaded with cat fish feed crashed near the town’s market.
The accident is one out of several of such recorded in the area with many casualties.
Though no casualty was recorded, the vehicle was badly damaged while some public utilities were affected.
Reports have it that the lorry was coming from Ifaki axis when the driver lost control and rammed into the median of the road very close to the market.
The vehicle caused obstruction as incoming vehicles had to take one way.
Speaking with newsmen, some of the residents thanked God that no life was lost but expressed concern over the incessant crashes of truck in the area.
They pleaded with government to look into the cause of the crashes.
Security agents were quickly drafted to the spot to avoid looting of goods and possible attack on the three persons in the truck.
