NASRDA-ONDO ALLIANCE TARGETS SECURITY, REVENUE AND SMART GOVERNANCE
The Executive Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has stated that the state government is set to leverage strategic collaboration with National Space Reseaech and Development Agency, NASRDA to implement key space-based initiatives, geared towards enhancing governance and boosting revenue generation in the state.
Governor Aiyedatiwa disclosed this during a technical session held in Akure between officials of NASRDA and representatives of the Ondo State Government, where both parties explored key areas of collaboration.
In a press statement issued by the Ondo state Government signed by the Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, John Akinduro, the Governor, said the partnership aligns with the administration’s drive to adopt innovative solutions for sustainable development.
Aiyedatiwa who was represented by his Deputy, Olayide Adelami, expressed confidence in the Agency’s technical capacity, pointing that the partnership will further demonstrate how the proposed solutions will work for Ondo State, as they have heard of NASRDA’s strides in all the areas and have no doubt that the Agency possesses the requisite competencies to deliver on the proposal.
In his remarks, the Director General and Chief Executive of NASRDA, Dr. Matthew Adepoju, who was represented by the Director of Media and Corporate Communication, Dr. Felix Ale, commended the Governor’s commitment to the partnership process and reaffirmed the Agency’s readiness to deploy world-class space and geospatial solutions to support the state’s developmental priorities.
He stated that the collaboration will focus on critical initiatives such as the development of a Land Information System (LIS) and the geospatial mapping and database development of schools, which will enhance land administration, improve educational planning, and provide accurate data for informed decision-making across key sectors.
The NASRDA boss explained that the partnership will also cover geospatial intelligence-based threat and risk assessment, as well as the delineation of potential mineralized zones, noting that these solutions will strengthen security monitoring, support resource management, attract investment, and ultimately boost revenue generation for the state.

The meeting was attended by members of the Ondo State Executive Council, Permanent Secretaries and Directors from relevant MDAs as well as Directors from the Space Agency.
