
OLUBADAN SET TO HONOUR UNIVERSITY ADMINISTRATOR, JADESOLA BABATOLA, WIFE WITH CHIEFTAINCY TITLES
…Event slated as part of Oba Olakulehin’s 90th birthday and first Coronation Anniversary
The Imperial Majesty, Oba(Dr) Akinloye Olakulehin, the Olubadan of Ibadan is set to honour the immediate past Registrar of Ajayi Crowther University and former Registrar of Bayelsa Federal Polytechnic, Dr. Jadesola Taiwo Babatola with the Chieftaincy title of Onigege-Ara of the ancient city.
The wife will also get the honourary Chieftaincy title of Yeye Onigege-Ara of Ibadan Land.
According to letter of notification signed by the Special Adviser to the reverred traditional authority, Prince Olasunmbo Owolabi Olakulehin, the installation is scheduled for a date within His Imperial Majesty’s 90th Birthday and 1st coronation anniversary which could then be any date between 4th July and 13th July, 2025 at the New Olubadan Palace, Oke-Aremo, Ibadan.
The letter reads in part: “With the authority of His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr) Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin (Ige Olakulehin I), I am delighted to notify you that taken into consideration of your valuable contribution to the development and progress of Ibadan land, and of giving good account of yourself in and out of the city, His Imperial Majesty have decided to honor you with the highly prestigious Honorary Chieftaincy title of ONIGEGEARA OF IBADAN LAND as well as your amiable wife as YEYE ONIGEGEARA OF IBADAN LAND”.
“In the same respect, I convey to you that the installation ceremony to these titles is scheduled for a date within His Imperial Majesty’s 90th Birthday and 1st year coronation anniversary, which could then be any date between 4th July and 13th July, 2025 at the New Olubadan Palace, Oke-Aremo, Ibadan”.
In his reaction, Dr. Jadesola Taiwo Babatola described the honour as a great recognition not only for him and his wife but also his entire family.
“Such a honour coming from a traditional institution and a city like ibadan where I started my early life and my family and where my parents lived for over three decades of their lifetime is a great development”.
While describing the honour as a challenge to continue to play his part in human and societal development, Babatola urged friends and associates to give adequate support to enable him justify the confidence reposed in him.
