Mr. Babatola AFOLABI, the Aide-De- Camp (ADC) to a former Governor of Ondo State, late Dr. Olusegun Agagu has been promoted to the prestigious rank of Commissioner of Police in the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
Mr. Afolabi enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in the year 1990.
He is among the Twenty-Three Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) recently elevated to the prestigious rank of Commissioners of Police by the police Service Commission (PSC).
Afolabi, a graduate of Mass Communication from the prestigious University of Lagos also holds a Masters degree in Public Administration (MPA) from the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko.
After serving as ADC to the late Agagu, CP Afolabi functioned in many capacities within the force having proven to be hardworking, diligent and highly professional.
He also represented the force outside the shores of Nigeria as he was part of the contingent that served in Kosovo, Bosnia and later, as the Contingent Commander of the team that went to Darfur.
After the assignment, Afolabi returned to Nigeria and served in many states of the federation including Lagos, Adamawa, Borno, Ogun and Yobe States where he was Deputy Commissioner of Police before his promotion to the rank of a Commissioner of Police by a dint of hardwork and dedication to duty.
He was among the first sets of Senior Police officers trained at the newly established Police Institute for Police Studies in Abuja in the year 2020.
He has attended several Security and Intligence courses within and outside Nigeria.
CP Afolabi who is a native of Epinmi- Akoko in Ondo state is happily married to Oluwatoyin Afolabi, a Nurse by trainning and a Deputy Director in the Ondo State Civil Service and their marriage is blessed with Children and grandchildren.
