AKURE ACCIDENT CLAIMS ONE AS GAARI TRADERS ESCAPE DEATH

A middle-aged man has been killed in an accident that occurred on Monday in Akure the Ondo state capital.
A young man suspected to be a ‘yahoo boy’ was alleged of over speeding at Alagbaka area of the city.
The car was said to be heading towards Igbatoro road where he knocked down the deceased by the Parliament Estate junction near School of Nursing.
Eyewitnesses said the gaari traders by the junction escaped death as the Lexus car was prevented by cars put on sale beside the gaari stand.
It took the intervention of men of the Nigeria Police to prevent the driver of the car from being lynched as they eventually took him away from the scene.
Angry okada riders at the scene also attempted to set the car ablaze but couldn’t due to closeness of the already hit cars on sale.
