The Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, Fidet Okhiria, has revealed that the Federal Government is spending the sum of N80.6bn on the construction of rail lines from Minna to Baro.
Okhiria, who made this known in Minna on Friday, stated that the rail line from Minna to Baro was 200 kilometres.
He added that the construction which was awarded to CCECC included the building of seven railway stations between Minna and Baro.
“The rail track construction includes construction of seven stations in Minna, Egba, Kateregi, Lafiagi, Katcha, Badeggi and Baro,” he stressed.
He further stated, “No payment has been made to the contractors yet but they have mobilised to site and are already constructing the office,” the managing director said.
