WORLD SIGHT DAY: REGION 10 LIONS CLUBS SUPPORT CATARACT SURGERY FOR EKITI WOMAN
Clubs in Region 10, Ekiti Pride Lions Club, Ado Metropolitan Lions club and Ekiti One Mind Lions Club led by the Ekiti Legacy Lions Club, have provided financial assistance to Mrs Oyedeji Alice to support her cataract eye surgery at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital.
The gesture forms part of activities marking World Sight Day, an annual global observance dedicated to raising awareness about blindness, visual impairment and the importance of accessible eye care.
Through this intervention, the participating Lions Clubs reaffirmed their commitment to improving eye health and restoring sight for people in need within the community.
The support is expected to assist Mrs Oyedeji with the cost of her cataract surgery and related medical care.
Speaking on the initiative, the leadership of Ekiti Legacy Lions Club said the project reflects the Lions’ longstanding dedication to serving communities and addressing preventable blindness.
The clubs also encouraged individuals, organisations and relevant stakeholders to support initiatives that promote regular eye examinations, early detection and affordable treatment for eye conditions.
