Amidst jubilation, the Ondo State chapter of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has held its State Congress at the Party Secretariat in Akure where new executive members were elected by consesus.
According to Naijaparrots reporter, Demola Kunlere, INEC officials were on ground to monitor the exercise which was carried out in a peaceful environment.
The Chairman of Electoral Committee, Chief Peter Kolade read out the names of new executive members who are the New Chairman, Pastor Peter Olagookun; Secretary, Adekunle Oluwayomi; Woman Leader, Ayugbo Patient; Treasurer, Comrade Ibrahim Shaibu and the Auditor, Alhaji Oladele Abibu.
Addressing the gathering, the new Chairman, Pastor Olagookun appreciated the large turnout of members from the eighteen local government areas of the state, describing their presence as a great encouragement towards making the party the darling of the people of the state.
The Chairman charged the new executive members to be alive to their responsibilities and promised to work for the progress of the Party and also carry all stakeholders along in all his activities.
Also speaking, a senatorial hopeful in Ondo Central Senatorial District, Seun Majasan said the presence of political bigwigs at the congress is a booster for his aspiration to represent the people of Ondo Central at the red chambers in Abuja.
Majasan analysed all the structures and processes already put in place to give other political parties run for their money as wide consultations have been carried out on towards achieving success in the elections.
He stressed that
the essence of a political party is to win election and impart positively on the lives of the people and therefore urged the party leaders to work together towards achieving their set targets.
“We thank our new leaders in the state and I unequivocally thank you all for your uncommon commitment towards moving the party forward”, Majasan added.
