AIYEDATIWA FELICITATES MOBOLAJI OSOMO AT 90, HAILS HER OUTSTANDING PUBLIC SERVICE CONTRIBUTIONS
Ondo State Governor, His Excellency, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has paid glowing tribute to former Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Chief (Mrs.) Alice Mobolaji Osomo, on the occasion of her 90th birthday, describing her as a symbol of excellence, integrity and selfless service.
In a congratulatory message, the governor said Chief Osomo’s life and career represent an enduring legacy of courage, resilience and commitment to public service.
Governor Aiyedatiwa noted that the nonagenarian has distinguished herself as a lawyer, politician and stateswoman whose contributions have left lasting footprints in Ondo State and the nation.
He recalled her tenure as Commissioner for Trade and Industry in the administration of the late Chief Michael Adekunle Ajasin, where she played a significant role in the establishment of key industries, including Oluwa Glass and Ile-Oluji Cocoa.
The governor also highlighted her service as Minister of Housing and Urban Development under former President Olusegun Obasanjo, as well as her participation in the democratic process as a governorship aspirant.
According to him, Chief Osomo’s accomplishments have continued to inspire generations, particularly women aspiring to leadership positions.
He said that at a time when female participation in governance was limited, she emerged as a trailblazer and the only woman in the State Executive Council under the Ajasin administration, breaking barriers through hard work, intellect and determination.
Governor further described her legal and public service career as a testament to a lifelong dedication to nation-building, justice and the empowerment of others.
The governor stated that beyond her public achievements, Chief Osomo’s greatest legacy lies in the countless lives she has touched and the values she has upheld over the years.
He described her as one of Ondo State’s finest daughters and ambassadors whose wisdom and contributions remain invaluable to society.
As she clocks 90, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed gratitude to God for her impactful life and prayed for continued good health, peace, strength and happiness for the elder stateswoman.
